  • HashiCorp Vault will integrate BluBracket’s code security product to expand its zero trust capabilities

HashiCorp Inc, a leader in multi-cloud infrastructure automation software, recently announced its acquisition of BluBracket, a pioneer in code security for developers and security engineers. This acquisition expands HashiCorp’s product portfolio to allow customers to discover and manage their entire secrets inventory.

With BluBracket, enterprises can detect, remediate, and prevent risks across multiple threat vectors ranging from source code to development environments to code pipelines. BluBracket gives organizations the capabilities to ship secure code without altering developer workflows or compromising speed, allowing their teams to securely build and deliver new applications. HashiCorp Vault’s secrets management functionality will be bolstered by BluBracket’s ongoing scanning of secrets to help avert accidental leaks and secret sprawl.

BluBracket’s founders are industry veterans whose past accomplishments include establishing Vera Security and supporting security initiatives for several of the largest companies in the world.

“We are excited to welcome BluBracket to HashiCorp,” says Dave McJannet, CEO, HashiCorp. “Security is critical for cloud platform teams as they bring order and consistency to their companies’ cloud adoption efforts, and BluBracket will help HashiCorp Vault expand into new areas as part of a more comprehensive lifecycle of managing secrets.”

“BluBracket is proud to be joining HashiCorp,” says Prakash Linga, co-founder & CEO, BluBracket. “We have long admired HashiCorp and believe our product will enrich HashiCorp Vault’s secrets management user experience. We look forward to working with the HashiCorp team on building our product into Vault and collaborating on the full lifecycle of secrets management for the cloud.”

Initially, HashiCorp will integrate BluBracket’s functionality into HashiCorp Vault to further its endeavors to expand HashiCorp’s zero trust capabilities with full secret lifecycle management by adding detection and remediation workflows, with new product capabilities to be made available later this year.
